The Treasure Valley Wine Society extends a warm Welcome to everyone to attend the 5th Annual Idaho Wine Festival. This year the event will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Crystal Ballroom, 2nd Floor Hoff Building, 802 W Bannock Street, Boise, ID.
The Idaho Wine Festival is the largest juried wine competition in Idaho. The event judges only wines produced and created in Idaho wineries. The Snake River Valley has now been designated as it's own AVA. Some Idaho Wines have been rated extremely high in the Northwest Judgings and National Judgings. The wines are judged by a panel of judges experienced in wine making, wine distribution and food and wine paring. The judging follows strict guidelines used in other regional and national competitions. Judging is done using the Davis 20 Point System. The results provide information to assist consumers in purchasing high quality Idaho wines. Results of the judging will be presented later in the evening with the awarding of Bronze, Silver, Gold and Best of Show medals.
